Mares are the heart and soul of Origin P.R.E. A lot has been written regarding the importance of mare lines in a pedigree. Very few stallions are prepotent enough to pass more than a few specific traits to their offspring. You can breed an inferior mare to an extremely prepotent stallion in the hopes of producing something a bit better than the mare, but that is generally the most you can hope for in a single generation.
One solution is to start your breeding program with the absolute BEST mares available. They should be conformationally superior individuals with the ability to go the distance in the show ring. They should also possess an even temperament, the desire to work, and movement with the requisite suspension, elevation, straightness, and impulsion. When you start with mares of this quality, and breed them to exemplary stallions that complement their strengths and improve upon their weaknesses, you have the ability to produce vastly superior horses in a single generation.

All the mares at Origin P.R.E. are slowly and carefully
trained to saddle work. They are schooled in dressage, and will be
shown in performance classes and/or dressage tests. Dressage training
allows us to evaluate the temperament and work ethic of each of our
mares. It's also great FUN!
